GA786型撓性劍桿織機(jī)系原1515有梭織機(jī)改造而成的織機(jī)（系列）。具有機(jī)架繼續(xù)沿用，占地面積不變，六色選緯、單緯換色、可配有多臂，配有自動(dòng)找斷頭緯裝置，所有零件全部國(guó)產(chǎn)化等特點(diǎn)。因而該機(jī)能夠顯著提高單位面積產(chǎn)量、產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量和品種檔次，并且適應(yīng)范圍廣，改善勞動(dòng)環(huán)境，降低勞動(dòng)強(qiáng)度，廣泛適用于中、小型紡織廠。
該機(jī)適用織造天然纖維（棉、毛、麻）、化學(xué)纖維、混紡紗等織物。
